Hi Folks! I am inserting a hyperlink in PPT 07 to an Excel file. I am
creating the hyperlink address to be in the following format for Excel:
Filename.xls#'worksheetname'!A1. I of course am using my own titles and cell
referencing. However, when I create this address in the link, save the PPT
file, close it, and reopen it, the address in the hyperlink address is
changed to just Filename.xls and leaves off the worksheet and cell locations
as well. The hyperlink address will not retain that info for some reason. Has
anyone ever seen this? I am using PPT and Excel 07 with SP 2. Thanks!

Are you certain it's

Filename.xls#worksheetname!A1

and not

Filename.xls#worksheetname!A1

I've never run across one with quotes before and would be curious to know how it
was created if they're really part of the link.

But this business of PPT tossing the entire subaddress (the # and everything to
the right of it) has been reported. I thought it was fixed in SP2 but perhaps
it's fixed in one of the later hotfixes. I can't repro it here any longer.

Ah.

However, this would have come out well before SP2, which leaves me
headscratchin'

Could you do Office Button | Resources and check on the Powerpoint version...
post back the entire version string.
