I've recently formatted my PC and when installing ACDSee 5.0, I'm getting the above error message.

I'm awaiting an answer from ACDSee after an exhaustive but fruitless search on-line.

In the meantime, any ideas?

Update your Windows Installer.

Have you patched the system through SP3 and beyond yet?
Latest hardware drivers already installed for all hardware devices?

Thanks for your reply, Shenan. I constantly keep updated on these issues.

Apart from that, I've been using ACDSee 5.0 for the last 9 years without any
problem.

Just to confirm - that's version 4.5, isn't it? If so, I tried that during
my issue.
