There is no moderator or owner.

The spam problem is almost entirely limitted to reading via google
groups. If you use pretty much any other usenet news server, you won't
see much of it at all. You could complain to google (lots of luck), or
you could do what works, which is to use a different server.

I use www.supernews.com . The amount of spam is overwhelming.
All of the spam is coming from http://groups.google.com/comp.lanf.fortran
though.

Try http://groups.google.com/group/comp.lang.fortran/topics?lnk
instead.

I use albasani and while I wouldn't call the amount of spam
"overwhelming", it is certainly annoying.
