I have a K8V SE Deluxe MOBO with built in Marvell Yukon Gigabit Ethernet
10/100/1000Base-T Adapter, Copper RJ-45. Operating system is WindowsXP.
Since I built this system, about a year ago, I have been operating this
Ethernet Adapter successfully using Driver version 6.30 which dates back to
10/2/03. In an effort to update, I have downloaded from Marvell their latest
driver update (file yk51x86.zip) which contains v8.57.2.3. Upon trying to
install this update (I have tried all possible install methods) I always end
up getting an error message from the Wizard: "....An error occurred during
the Installation of this device. The system cannot find the file
specificed...." Yes, I have made sure that all required files have been
unzipped to a folder in my hard drive and have tried "forcing" the wizard to
fetch the files at the proper location... all to no avail.

Any suggestions or advise would be most appreciated.

go into device manager and do an update the drive, when asked point to the
folder where the unzipped files are.

What advantages does the new driver confer to you that the old working
driver doesn't have?
