Graph Theory Terminology: "block" vs. ...?
How do I call an induced subgraph that is maximal under the condition of being connected and not containing any bridges? On a few occasions, this is called a "block". But usually, "block" means a maximal connected and articulation-free induced subgraph. So the term refers to vertex-connectivity. I am not sure... 30 Jul 2010 09:41

square = inside circle + pseudocircle, and, cube = inside sphere + pseudosphere #4.31 & #246 Correcting Math & Atom Totality
Looks like I invented some new terms here of: (a) ReCalculus to signify the strip-building rather than the decomposition into picket-fences of Calculus. (b) Pseudocircle to signify the name of the object formed from the circle inside a square and which is put together as a 4 pointed star shape. But an interest... 30 Jul 2010 02:08

What are the solutions to the equations sin^-1 x = 1/sin x, cos^-1 x = 1/cos x? Since sin^-2 x = 1/sin^2 x, x can be anything not in pi.Z. Since cos^-2 x = 1/cos^2 x? x can be anything not in pi(Z + 1/2). ... 1 Aug 2010 03:00

Intersection of Complex Submanifolds (Incl. Self-Int.) is positive
Hi, everyone: This is a followup from a while back. W.Dale Hall was pretty helpful. If I remember well, he had suggested I use the preferred orientation on the submanifolds (i.e., given a complex basis {w_1,..,w_n}, we get a real basis {w_1,iw_1,..,w_n,iw_n } . The structure group for these "i... 31 Jul 2010 15:05
