same prob. seems like it's only affecting service packs whether it be for
windows or office. already tried re-validating both windows and office. not
using mcaffree (as most web posts seem to indicate as the problem on norton
360. (this error as not come up before, w/ the same
software/software-combination installed. [hdisk died, had to reinstall
everything/reapplying updates]) manual install of windows sp worked fine.
haven't tried office yet, but suspect it should wrk.

Freudi, your kind of abrasive, also your response doesn't identify nor solve
a potentially ongoing problem. it only addresses a work around for the
immediate problem.

any ideas MicroSoft?!?!?!?
