I want to import some movies into Movie Maker but the files are not in a
compatible format (files are currently M4V0.
How can I convert to AVI or MPG?

Maybe the following freeware would be worth a try:

(FWIW...it's always a good idea to create a System
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Converting to .wmv might be the best choice.
