My home wifi network was working fine until I installed/uninstalled
Norton Internet Security on my desktop.I did the uninstall after I was
unable to configure the Norton to let me use the network. My PC is now
unable to recognise my workgroup, giving an error message "Mshome is
not accessible.....network path not found.Same result after re-running
the network wizard.
I have since run the appropriate Symantec uninstall utility to
completely remove Internet Security 2005, and done a system restore
back to before I installed the Norton programme.Windows firewall is
configured for sharing.
ipconfig/all gives the following:

That seems to be OK

Browstat gives the following:

Status for domain MSHOME on transport

Browsing is active on domain.
Master browser name is: RACHEL
Could not connect to registry, error = 53 Unable to determine
build of browser master: 53
Unable to determine server information for browser master: 53
1 backup servers retrieved from master RACHEL
\\RACHEL
Unable to retrieve server list from RACHEL: 53

Something not right here, obviously. RACHEL is my wife's laptop.

I have run lspfix - no problems found.

Restrictanonymous is set to (0); there is also a
restrictanonymoussam(1) in the registry. I tried setting that to (0)
but as it had no effect, I put it back to (1).

Any ideas gratefully received,

Simon
