From: Thomas Goodson on 6 Jan 2010 00:29 Ok, I have performed a swing of SBS2003 onto a new virtual box (HyperV R2) and almost everything is working great. The exception is OWA (exchange is working for both internal and external clients (RPC/HTTP & POP3/SSL). In OWA I simply get a "440 Login Timeout" message displayed immediately. Much searching of the internet has turned up much on resetting the passwords for IUSR_server and IWAM_server accounts and I have done this with no change in the OWA problem (it did fix a minor issue with RWW, which now works perfectly). While I don't think it is related, you should also see my thread "It's BACK (expired certificate in SBS2003 install" if that might have anything to do with this issue. ** Tom **
From: Thomas Goodson on 6 Jan 2010 14:38 Ok, a little bit more information here: This was working before we changed network adapters and therefore had to reactivate SBS2003. I'm hoping that someone here will have some other ideas than the password issues (which I've check and checked and checked) ** Tom ** "Thomas Goodson" <thomas._nospam.goodson(a)omega-link.com> wrote in message news:#uyk2EpjKHA.2260(a)TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Ok, I have performed a swing of SBS2003 onto a new virtual box (HyperV R2) > and almost everything is working great. From: "Robbin Meng [MSFT]" on 7 Jan 2010 04:32 Hello Tom, Thanks for your post. I am not sure if you have referred to the KB917686 and finished all the suggested 5 steps. If not, please go through the KB917686 and follow it step by step, since besides resetting the passwords for IUSR_server and IWAM_server accounts there are still a few more settings to check, e.g. make sure IUSR_server and IWAM_server accounts are in the local Users group. Error message when users try to log on to an Exchange Server 2003 organization by using Outlook Web Access: "440 Login Timeout" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917686 Moreover, please check the OWA virtual directory permission. 1) Open IIS 2) Expend Default web site 3) Right click on OWA virtual directory 4) Select Edit permission 5) Now select Security 6) Add authenticated users and give read access to it 7) Now users will be able to access the OWA, restart IIS service using "iisreset /noforce". Hope this helps. From: Thomas Goodson on 9 Jan 2010 16:29 Yep, that's the article that I was working from and I completed all the steps that it suggested. I'll log in and check the additional items that you suggested just as soon as I reboot the system (it is running very slowly right now for some reason.) ** Tom ** ""Robbin Meng [MSFT]"" <v-robmen(a)online.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:rUjhTx3jKHA.4300(a)TK2MSFTNGHUB02.phx.gbl... > > Hello Tom, > > Thanks for your post. > > I am not sure if you have referred to the KB917686 and finished all the > suggested 5 steps. From: Thomas Goodson on 9 Jan 2010 18:29 Ok, I went back through and verified that everything in 917686 has been done. No luck. As for your additional instructions, I assume by the OWA virtual directory, you actually mean the Exchweb directory, in which case I have completed those steps as well. Still no luck. I still get "440 Login Timeout" instantly. (both via sitename.com/exchange from remote and servername/exchange from local.) Company web works and I am able to pickup mail via outlook and POP3 SSL ** Tom ** ""Robbin Meng [MSFT]"" <v-robmen(a)online.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:rUjhTx3jKHA.4300(a)TK2MSFTNGHUB02.phx.gbl... > > Hello Tom, > > Thanks for your post. > > I am not sure if you have referred to the KB917686 and finished all the > suggested 5 steps.
