When I choose Tools, Customize in Outlook 2003 I receive a message that says
that Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close. Can anybody help
please?

What is being logged to the Event Viewer?
You might want to try resetting your outcmd.dat file by renaming it to .old
when Outlook is closed.

Event Viewer says:
Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.8118.0, stamp 456628bf,
faulting module outllib.dll, version 11.0.8118.0, stamp 4566283d, debug? 0,
fault address 0x00016fdc.

I've searched for the file outcmd.dat in Explorer but nothing is found.

Make sure you include hidden files and folders in your search. Default
location is;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

Thanks for that. I've found the file and renamed it but still having the same
problem. I have also tried using the Repait option from the installation CD.
Do you have any other suggestions please?
