Is it possible to retrieve messages without Outlook automatically selecting one?

It's kinda annoying because if I'm retrieving several messages it always selects the newest one.
I would be OK with this feature if it would at least select the oldest one in the bunch.

Thanks

What sort order do you use in the Inbox? What email account type?

Outlook should keep the last selected item in focus, even after downloading
new items.
