I have a dell dimension 8400. I am interested in buying a new card
that ONLY WORKS WITH A PCI-E 2.0 SLOT. Is the pci-e slot in my dell
8400 a 2.0 slot? If yes than respond with a "Yes!".

Thanks.

I finally found the Intel spec for the 925X chipset used on the 8400
motherboard. The spec says: "Compatible with the PCI Express Base
Specification Revision 1.0a." This is what I would expect, given that
the 925X was one of the very first chipsets to support PCI Express.
Sorry I can't say "Yes!"... Ben Myers

It's a NO. The dates for 2.0 are in 2007, while the 8400
dates from 2004. See

Your card will work, just won't achieve the listed speed.
