Strange lack of SMTP rejections
For some reason, if a local user sends mail to another local user who doesn't exist, my Postfix installation doesn't seem to notify the sender of the error, nor deliver a bounce message to the sender. Log snippet of what I am talking about: Sep 28 00:29:48 server2 dovecot: imap-login: Login: user=<russell@e... 29 Sep 2009 17:33
REJECTING SPOOFED EMAILS: From: user@my.domain To: user@my.domain
Hello All, First of all, I have no experience with Postfix. We didn't like it back in the days of tcpwrappers, probably since it was in its infancy, and stuck with now abandonware/sell-your-car-to-be-able-to-buy-1yr- support-contractware sendmail. So my question is theoretical: What is the procedure to reje... 28 Sep 2009 01:37

So if the static ip line is down postfix prints out "warning: smtp_connect_addr: bind x.x.x.x: Cannot assign requested address" and uses the other (dynamic) ip for sending. Is it possible to tell postfix not to send mai... 26 Sep 2009 19:05

Postfix 2.3.15 RPM package and no SASL support
I posted in the Google Group lists.postfix.users (listed on the Postfix page) but I fear that's the wrong place. http://groups.google.com/group/list.postfix.users/browse_thread/thread/bd6fc644d832c2e2/9e216f4f24ffa685 Anyway, I've been wrestling with SASL auth support after upgrading from 2.2.10 to 2.3.15 using... 17 Sep 2009 15:53

How did I get this [Sender address rejected: User unknown in virtual alias table] and how do I get rid of it?
Small domain, just a home network with a postfix server to keep the baddies out. But for some reason, outbound mail is failing for one user and I can't quite make out why. She is in a virtual domain [example.org below] that should forward to her home mail [home.net, let's call it]. This has been a pretty ha... 16 Sep 2009 01:49

question about policy daemon time limit
Hi, I'm pretty sure about this but... I prefer asking for being totally sure. Hey mates imagine a policy daemon has a (server time limit) time limit of 3600 seconds... like hasn't arrived the max_idle time... spawn doesn't close it.... and now it's near to it's time_limit.... imagine that in 120 seconds ... 13 Sep 2009 10:38
