From: Solcree on
Have tried creating a new user with a mobile template however I continue to
get the following error:

The wizard could not successfully configure this user account. The
following could not be completed: - Moving to the Users organizational unit
failed.

Have tried to create the account without the wizard but then I cannot get it
to logon to exchange due to unable to resolve name issue.

Any suggestions where I can look to find a workaround?

Hi Solcree,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

From your description, I know when you added a mobile user, you received
error: The following could not be completed: - Moving to the Users
organizational unit failed. If I am off-base, please dont hesitate to
let me know.

If the Mobile User Template is missing, this problem may occur, please take
the following steps to narrow down this issue.

1. Verify the Mobile User Template is located at
SBSUsers.Users.MyBusiness.domain.com.
To do this:
1. Open Server Management, expand to Advanced Management and them click
Active Directory Users and computers.
2. Expand Domain.local, MyBusiness, Users, SBSUsers.
3. Check if Mobile User Template is listed on the right.

If you cannot find it, please do the following steps to reinstall SBS
administrative components.
To do this:
1. Open Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
2. Click Windows Small Business Server 2003, click Change/Remove and then
click Next.
3. Click to Select Maintenance on the left of Server tools.
4. Click to choose Reinstall on the left of Administration and click Next.
5. Click Finish.

Note: The SBS 2003 Disc 3 is needed during the reinstallation

If the problem still exists, please help me collect the following
information for further research.

1. Screen shot of the error massage
1) Press the Print Screen key once on the keyboard when the error message
appears.
2) Click Start, go to Run, enter MSPAINT in the open dialog box, and then
Click OK.
3) Use Ctrl + V to paste the screenshot to the canvas.
4) From the File menu, go to Save and save it as a JPG file.
5) Send the JPG file to me.

2. Send me the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business
Server\Support\add_user_wizard.log from the SBS Server.

3. MPS Report of SBS Server
1) Download MPS report tool from:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/b/b/1/bb139fcb-4aac-4fe5-a579-30b0bd9
15706/MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.EXE
2) Run the MPSRPT_SETUPPerf.exe on the server box.
3) Wait for 10~15 minutes.
4) Open Windows explorer, navigate to
%SYSTEMROOT%\MPSReports\Setup\Reports\cab\
5) Send the .cab file to me.

Please send me the information to v-robeli(a)microsoft.com.

If you need further assistance, please dont hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
