I was looking to clear an entry for the Security Center - it seems to think
that a ZoneAlarm program is still installed and alerts me to let me know that
it is not started; if I don't have an AV solution installed.

I wasn't looking to increase performance, but trust me - I will be running
Erunt and RegOpt (I know I have whitespace (I can see it when I open the
registry <--- VERY bad joke 8-{>)) - I believe that those are tools everyone
should have ...

If someone can point me in the right direction to clear this orphaned entry,
I would gladly manually delete it rather than use a reg cleaner.

I will be searching again today ...

you can always open
the registry and search
for the entries manually.

the search option is
in the menu bar.

you can also use programs
like reg seeker and reg
scanner to search for
zone alarm keys.

Seek assistance here: http://forums.zonealarm.com/

Or perhaps see http://windowsxp.mvps.org/repairwmi.htm

If you ever think your Registry needs to be cleaned, repaired, boosted,
tuned-up, cured, tweaked, or optimized (it doesn't), read
http://aumha.net/viewtopic.php?t=28099 and draw your own conclusions.

Why not run the Zone Alarm Removal Tool (this page contains a direct
link to the tool at the zonealarm.com Web site):

Another option might be to reinstall it and then re-uninstall it to see what
happens. Be sure anything that protects it is turned off (some spyware
detectors, etc.). Haven't used their most current version but never had
problms with removal.
