Does anyone know if/how you can replace the CPU fan on the GX280? I'd
like to buy a quieter fan, but noticed that the Dell fan comes with a 5
pin connection instead of the standard 2(?) pin CPU fan connection
(i.e. Zalman). Thanks!

The Dell fan goes to a sensor on the motherboard. If the fan is not connected
and spinning, the sensor is not sensing, and the system refuses to boot up (or
maybe allows you to over-ride the fan not running message and boot up anyway).

In short, replacing the cooling fan in most Dell P4 systems is an extremely
difficult task, because of the proprietary fan connector on the motherboard. My
advice is to live with the level of noise... Ben Myers
