Thanks for that help russg, but can't find anything to do with POST on
my start-up BIOS even though I'm sure you're right.

15 minutes seems excessive for the POST (Power on self test). You can
probably tell the BIOS to stop
the memory check at startup. It is what the crawling white line is.
Most computers you hit F2 or DEL
at boot time to enter BIOS setup. Then search for the POST settings.
