validate? Does it have CSS either embedded or linked?

Try a couple of things....

1. Remove the link to the stylesheet, save the template with a new name,
and see if the errors go away when you try the same edits.
2. Remove the page last updated stuff, save the template with a new name,
and see if the errors go away when you try the same edits. That would be
this whole chunk of code -
