I'm very sorry for acting so inappropriately. I will do as you suggest.

Great hagel!
And in the process non of the questions have been awnsered in any reasanable way.
If Office Compatibility Pack (SP1/SP2) and/or PowerPoint Viewer and/or Word Viewer and/or Excel Viewer for MSO2K7 are installed the Auto Updater will recomend MSO2K7 patches from time to time that are nessesary for compatebility. This is irrespective of the version of Office and the OS. So even if running MSO2K on a Win2K PC these patches will appear as an update.

Bruce you do not say what OS you are running but in W2K and W2KSVR this update (KB977724)is not shown in Add/Remove Programs, although Belarc and WindowsUpdate.log show it as installed. MS has already released a hotfix KB980210 but it appears to apply to MSO2K7 only and I would be reluctant to use it with other versions of Office. So far I have not found a way to uninstall the patch if it is not listed in ARP. At this piont the only suggestion I can make is to contact MS, as support for security updates is appearently free for home users.
