From: Nick Friend on 29 Apr 2010 04:49 Jean-Pierre, What about the compatibility of docs with Word? What would be critical for us is that anything the users put into their text (in terms of formatting, tables, styles, etc.) passes without distortion into Word. We manage all the editing inside the application whilst users are creating their documents, but once the finished document is ready, they must have the option to save out to Word and continue editing in Word without finding lots of glitches in the format.. From: Jean-Pierre Maertens on 29 Apr 2010 06:47 Nick, That would be no problem I think (of course I don't know your application). I would know if there were problems by now because I do all the printing with Word. My application is mostly about generating texts in various forms. When the user wants to print I always give him the option to print (I compose the document in Word with the various pieces of text they have put in and I print without making Word visible) or to open the text in word (which is basically the same, but I make Word visible and I do not give a print command). The software is in use since 2004 and there have been only a few (less than 10 in all those years) minor glitches. Many users copy/paste texts from Word into TE-Edtit-control and all comes out just fine. Of course Word is a large animal so I don't if your users make use of all the possibilities of it... in my experience most users have only a very basic knowledge of Word :) greetings > Jean-Pierre, > > What about the compatibility of docs with Word?
