From: damageinc on 10 May 2010 14:42 Alright, I have tried everything on the net to get my networked "worked" out... Anyway, Here is my problem: I have a home network with 3 machines- 2 XP machines and 1 Win 7. I swapped out an older XP machine with a new WIN 7 machine. After changing everything under the sun(sometimes not waiting long enough I think to let setting take effect) to get them all to communicate. PC#1) XPMike ETHERNET 2) WIN7 KIM WIRELESS 3) XPsunflower WIRELESS 99% of the time PC 1 and 2 see each other and share all folders. MOST of the time PC #1 & 3 do also. MOST of the time #2 and 3 do not. RIght now PC #2 can see and acces shared folders on #3. #3 Doesn't see #2 at all or the shared folders. I finally got frustrated and downloaded Network Magic to see if it would help me get this sorted out to no avail. It follows along with the same access that Windows shows with the machine software(accessability-wise). Oddly PC #1 & 2 see each other and share no matter what options I change.I have tried Advance file share on the XP's also and still didn't change anything(after disabling simple share) and re enabling simple share.Right now Simple share is actually turned off the XP machines. I have made exceptions in the firewalls on both.I tried the network set up Wizard with a USB flash and countless other things that have not worked. I am finally now asking for help to get the home office buttoned up and reduce issues in the future... I also have attached some info below and can provide anything else needed to get me through this. Now, Please accept my thanks in advance! From: damageinc on 10 May 2010 14:53 Also, 2 PC's are connected to a LinkSys WRT 600N Router on the same Channel (except the ethernet machine). THe Router is connected to a Cable Modem. Thanks again...I hope!

[...] > IPXEnabled = TRUE > IPXFrameType = 255 > IPXVirtualNetNumber = 2735D185 I see you have IPX protocol enabled. You might have your Microsoft networking bound to both NetBT (TCP/IP) and IPX and the machines could get confused as to which interface to use. If you don't need IPX protocol, then disable/uninstall it. If you do need it, try un-binding it from the File and Printer Sharing services... Double-click Network Connections Control panel -> Advanced (Menu) -> Advanced Settings(Dropdown) -> Click on your "Local Area Connection" in top window then in bottom window make sure only TCP/IP is checked under the File and Printer Settings (maybe for Client for Microsoft Networks as well). From: damageinc on 20 May 2010 16:46 I disabled IPX. No luck. Now after a few days, I haven't made any changes and the scenario is: THe Win 7 Machine doesn't see either XP machine even though it can ping them both. One of the XP machines sees the Win 7 Machine but can't access it at all. The other XP machine( the one that runs with the better connectivity) can open Windo7 7 shares on cmd but cannot see the Win 7 Machine in WorkGroup. Both XP machines share and see each other THis is Unreal. I have tried the LLLTD hot fix and everything else under the sun- NO LUCK! HELP! My wife has a work from home office and I just got laid off so I thought I would work on making her computing more efficient with printer and file sharing but this is a disaster.I have spent over 100hrs on this. Oh, I also disable IPV6 again- No luck. And....I connected all 3 machines to the router by ethernet to rule out any wireless issues...still no help. AAARRGGHHH! And 1 more thing- I dont get this at all...THe Win 7 Machine can't access itself in the network- access is denied! WTH?
