I understood that bitlbee is one of the packages that should be possible
to install. But on my system zypper does not find it:
zypper install bitlbee
Loading repository data...
Reading installed packages...
'bitlbee' not found.
Resolving package dependencies...

Nothing to do.

My repositories are:

Should I add a repository, or is there no package for bitlbee?

Zypper doesn't have the repo where you'll find bitlbee in it's list.

Yes. If you use:

http://software.opensuse.org/search?baseproject=openSUSE:11.2&p=1&q=bitlbee

you can use the 1-click installation and it will add the required repo.
