What distribution are you using?

On my Mandriva linux system there is no mbox command available,
in any of the packages in it's repositories.

What are you trying to do, and where is it failing?
For local mail, Mandriva systems use the nail package.

It would make your question less opaque if you were to explain more
precisely what you are doing. There seems to be a mention of conky in the
Subject header, so I'll guess that you mean you are using the 'system
monitor' of that name and want it to show a count of the number of new
mails in a particular file or directory.

I spy another clue; are you using Crunchbang Linux? "CrunchBang Linux is
not recommended for anyone needing a stable system or anyone who is not
comfortable running into occasional, even frequent breakage. CrunchBang
Linux could possibly make your computer go CRUNCH! BANG!"
