should i see the pci lpt card i installed listed in bios??

Varys with the bios.

It should certainly show up in the device manager.

Then it doesnt matter if it shows up in the bios or not, dos apps directly
control the parallel port using the port address and interrupt etc.

There are a variety of dos parallel port testers around, try one of those and see if it sees the port.
