me too - i started using it a couple of months ago after i finally got
sick of killing all those spam threads. now i only see 1 or 2 spam
messages each day on clf, rather than the seemingly hundreds that i used to.

will accessing newsgroups via port 80 work? if so, maybe try this with
a proper newsreader for a free and almost spamless feed:
Servername: reader80.eternal-september.org
Port : 80
