In my outlook, when composing a message, the typefont appears microscopic
even though it is actually 11pt type. How do I adjust my view of what I am
typing to actual size?

Open a new message window
Click inside the text area
Hold down control. Scroll your mouse wheel.
Alternatively, do the same, click on Format text ribbon, click on Zoom
button.

The mousewheel works in 2003 as well. In 2003, you will find the zoom
menu under "view" I believe.
