I have been using Fireworks (version 8) for a long time with no hassle (fully
activated etc.) However, recently, I cannot say exactly since when
unfortunately, whenever I try to launch it I get this error message

Macromedia Product Activation
Please Reinstall your software
A problem was detected with your application. Please reinstall to correct this
problem.

I have tried reinstalling several times to no avail. I have even tried going
through the registry looking for any Fireworks related entries.

Any help would be really appreciated,

P.S. When I reinstall I am not prompted for serial number etc. I'm not sure if
this might be relevant?
