Do you remember what the '3 other things were' ? If not, *right* click
My Computer either on the Desktop or Start Menu and choose ' Manage '
Click the plus sign next to Event Viewer
Click on System

Successful updates show as 'Information' with the source being 'Windows
Update Agent.
Unsuccessful update installations show as 'Error' with the WUA as the
Source.

If you double click the Error you can then copy the Event by clicking on
the File icon directly underneath the arrows on the right top part of
the window.
Same with the successful ones <w>

See if that helps you find which 3 were installed and if there's any
info for the ones that did not.

Hello, So I went to the event viewer and the ones labled Information said
that the updates were ready to install, there was no errors with the source
WUA. There was some errors that I think had to do with my connection. So I
went to Microsoft update options and reviewed my update history. There are 4
updates that have gone through now and they are Office Service Pack3,
Sec.update KB926436,Sec.update KB893756, and Sec.update KB928255. The odd
thing is that the updates that haven't installed have a negative sign by them
meaning that they were canceled? It still keeps trying to install updates
over and over and failing.

The Source will be Windows Update Agent, WUA is just the 3 letter
acronym that makes it easier to post rather than typing it out each
time <w>

Let's have a look at the WindowsUpdate.log. Scroll all the way down to
the end of the log at the bottom.
Click once to the right of the last entry ... the cursor should look
likes this and be blinking now |
Now click Edit > Find
In the Find what: line, type in or copy&paste the following

Installing update

Under Direction, put a mark next to ' Up '
Now click the Find next button
What we're looking for is a FATAL error code or an Installation failed
message
Keep working your way up the log until you locate an entry that looks
like this, which shows Automatic Updates starting the installation routine

updates / installing updates [CallId =

Copy and paste that section of the log all the way down to the section
of the log that shows the installation failed, please.
