From: McSteve on 17 Nov 2009 19:39 A friend sent me this photo. We attended the same concert but I did not know he was there, too. I'm sure he's glad he still has the photo. I'm glad he shared it with me. Best I can recall this at Brown University in March of '68. Check out the PA column near the left margin. I recall the sound as being just a huge roar with unintelligible vocals. Those were the days, eh? http://i48.tinypic.com/qqv775.jpg -- Steve <snip> McQ

Kinda lloked like the beginnings of a real PA. I remember a lot of 60's groups had a couple of horns up on stands...PA's were awful then.

First time I saw that nameplate was Mahavishnu Orchestra's first tour in '71. That was also at Brown U, but a different building. I'm pretty sure that column (Hendrix pic) is either Standell or Shure. -- Steve <snip> McQ

I saw it. I even called Acoustic about it, since it looked like better PA technology than most bands had and I was already doing PA then. BTW you won't find the Doors PA in the catalog. it was built for the Doors from Altec components. Acoustic made the amplification and pretty blue front boxes.
