By applying the 'fix it' from the following:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

the yellow shield is kept away for the remainder of the day.

Tomorrow AM, it will return at startup. For now, it will not return
under any circumstances. Odd isn't it ! ...

Did you try remove/reinstall of .NET?
