I use Spread COM for years and it's very fast and stable. Spread for
Windows Forms seems even better

John,

If you want a fully featured and professional product then I think you
have to go Infragistics. However it is as dear as Visual Studio again.
Their gird control is bBrowser times 10 BUT you can in fact get almost
all you want from the regular browser. VS 2008's grid does 90% of the
things we want - Infragistics the rest. VS 2010 may have further
improvements.

Thats the ones I use as well. My colleagues who been using
infragistics says that the devexpress grid is faster.

Mathias,

I don't know about speed (the grid seems to be as fast as anything else)
but the Infragistics tools do need a lot of support dlls - so it is
quite heavy in the hands of users.

One problem is that once you go down a 3rd party path, you get locked in

So be careful of your choice.

Go on to the comparison forums but also be aware that the doom sayers
outnumber happy folk 5:1, simply because most happy folk don't bother
saying so.

Geoff,

the speed issue may be ralated to the Infragistics ASP component.
