From: Carlos Rocha on 26 May 2010 18:00 I use Spread COM for years and it's very fast and stable. Spread for Windows Forms seems even better http://www.fpoint.com/netproducts/spreadwin/spreadwin.aspx -- Carlos Rocha
From: Geoff Schaller on 26 May 2010 19:05 John, If you want a fully featured and professional product then I think you have to go Infragistics. However it is as dear as Visual Studio again. Their gird control is bBrowser times 10 BUT you can in fact get almost all you want from the regular browser. VS 2008's grid does 90% of the things we want - Infragistics the rest. VS 2010 may have further improvements. From: Geoff Schaller on 27 May 2010 03:49 Mathias, I don't know about speed (the grid seems to be as fast as anything else) but the Infragistics tools do need a lot of support dlls - so it is quite heavy in the hands of users. One problem is that once you go down a 3rd party path, you get locked in So be careful of your choice. Go on to the comparison forums but also be aware that the doom sayers outnumber happy folk 5:1, simply because most happy folk don't bother saying so. From: Mathias on 27 May 2010 04:36 Geoff, the speed issue may be ralated to the Infragistics ASP component. /Mathias On 27 Maj, 09:49, "Geoff Schaller" <geo...(a)softxwareobjectives.com.au> wrote: > Mathias, > > I don't know about speed (the grid seems to be as fast as anything else) > but the Infragistics tools do need a lot of support dlls - so it is > quite heavy in the hands of users. > > One problem is that once you go down a 3rd party path, you get locked in > > So be careful of your choice. > > Go on to the comparison forums but also be aware that the doom sayers > outnumber happy folk 5:1, simply because most happy folk don't bother > saying so. > > Geoff > > "Mathias" <mathias.hakans...(a)consultec.se> wrote in message > > news:761abda3-b9f9-4043-a95d-38d336f036ac(a)r9g2000vbk.googlegroups.com: > > > > > On 26 Maj, 20:28, "Stephen Quinn" <stevej...(a)bigpondSPAM.net.au> > > wrote: > > > > John > > > > Take a look at the Developer Express Components. > > > http://www.devexpress.com > > > > CYA > > > Steve > > > Thats the ones I use as well.
