Hi I have been using DW8 for the past week and loved it.

Everything was working ok until today. Nothing has changed on my system,
e.g. no new hardware or software and I have done a full virus scan.

When DW8 loads up I just get the Windows error box come up and it asked me
if I want to submit a error report.

I have gone to the event viewer and here are the two errors that happen when
DW try's to load.

---------------------------

I have done a repair to DW8 just now but it did not help.
Any ideas what I might try next?

I have had the same problem. DW8 crashes while I am using it though. DW8
also has several bugs that nobody can seem to fix (at least in this forum).
I have submitted all the bugs I found with DW8 to this forum and no replies.
Maybe you have experienced them as well?

- Page title display missing (no fix in preferences)
- Contribute errors ("An unknown error occurred when Dreamweaver tried to
connect to this
Contribute site.")
- More Contribute errors on upload: ("The file required for Contribute
compatibility does not exist on the
server. Would you like to turn off Contribute compatibility?")

Anyway, I have given up on DW8 with the latest error and switched back to
DW7.

When I upload files in DW8 they don't refresh for some reason. I spoke with
our Network Admin and he said it looked like a timestamp issue. I looked at
the file on the server with Homesite and the changes were there so no
problem uploading. But since timestamp was incorrect our caching servers
don't recognize that the page needs to be refreshed. This maybe a bug
unique to folks to have to work with caching servers, but unfortunately I am
one of them so I can't use DW8. Which sux b/c I have used DW since the
first version.

What is this? I haven't seen this posted here.

Please open a trouble ticket on this and your other issues. You will not be
charged with a use of one of your two free support incidents.

No, I haven't posted that last error here before. That error was just the
last straw for me with DW8. And since nobody can help me with the other
bugs, (which are just annoying pop-up errors related to Contribute) I assume
they won't be fixed by MM for a while. There are just too many problems
with DW8 for me to start working with MM on fixing. I will stick with DW7
until MM comes out with 8.1 or 8.2 and I will try again. Thanks anyway.
