I have FP 2003 and when I want to edit my website MS Word opens for the
editing. It doesn't do the job!

I have a new computer with Windows 7 and MS Front Page installed alright but
I can't edit when Word wants to edit. I have XP and Vista on other computers
and they work super fine with FP.

I open the website page and click on "Page" and the dropdown says edit with
Front Page but Word opens automatically.

Is there a default setting somewhere I don't know about? If there is, I need
to know how to go about that - Please

What happens when you open the website with FrontPage?
File->Open Site and type in the address for the web site.

Opening the site with Windows Explorer can lead to problems with editing,
sometimes the cached page is opened instead of the website page.

In Internet explorer, Tools->Internet Options - Programs tab
Choose FrontPage from the HTML Editor dropdown.

Thanks for helping out here Ronx.

When I went in through Front Page to edit it worked, but going through
"Page" then "Edit with Front Page" it still opens Word. I did what you said
with IE Explorer and [Tools>Options etc.] and it was already on default "Edit
with FP" but Word still opens from there. Can I correct that in any way? I
rebooted etc., still the same. Going into the web page by clicking on
Page>edit with>FP saves time. I would like to access it that way if possible.

A BIG THANKS!

Try changing the dropdown in IE to something else. Then close IE.
Then open IE and change the dropdown back to FrontPage.
If that fails, then post your question in a Internet Explorer forum or
newsgroup.
