Ok then what if you don't have McAfee installed?

W7 OS using PCtools.

This is happening to me and the last time was able to figure out how to
reinstall over W7. Fixed the problem but took 3Hrs to load.

McAfee has Enterprise V8.7 compatable for W7.

have another PC which is XP OS with Enterprise V8.5 and never had this
problem with net access.

Then you don't have the problem described above. Yesterday McAfee
updated it's dat files and incorrectly marked svchost as infected making
some PCs reboot continuously, or, as in my case, lose all net
connectivity, and the task bar.

Ours was Enterprise 8.7, I don't have any word on whether McAfee are
pushing a fixed version yet or not. The Reg has an article (for
"moderate to significant performance issues" read "Totally stuffed")
