From: TonyAshlin on 9 Nov 2009 11:29 Hi there It looks like the program works up to the point of logging into the website using Frontpage/Sharepoint option. It is my beliefe that Frontpage 2003 comes with everything you need for out of the box solutions. What do I need or what am I missing? Thanks -- Tony Ashlin
From: Tom Willett on 9 Nov 2009 12:03 So, do you actually have a web site with a host and an account set up with them? Don't quite understand what you are asking. From: Ronx on 9 Nov 2009 12:13 It is generally best practice to develop the web site on your PC, then publish to the server. If you avoid the components that need FrontPage extensions, then you can publish with FTP instead of extensions - be aware that support for the extensions is disappearing. -- Ron Symonds Microsoft MVP (Expression Web) http://www.rxs-enterprises.org/fp Reply only to group - emails will be deleted unread. From: IdaSpode on 9 Nov 2009 17:08 FWIW, I had the same problem with FP2000 and Vista. Program worked fine locally but would not log on to the live site, however it did seem to allow me to "publish". I've mostly moved on to Expression Web but I have one site that's heavy with FP forms. I can still edit them in EW, but not as easilyl as in FP. For now I still have FP2K on a XP laptop for those times. I know most will say it's best to edit locally, then publish "up", but I've become accustomed to doing it the opposite way, probably because the preview in FP didn't always correspond to what acutally displayed on the server. I just installed Win 7 this weekend, it seems to have resolved the compatibility issues with most of my older software/hardware that Vista didn't like. I might try installing FP again, see if it runs correctly.
