I called and they're sending one.

Their opinion, like mine, is that they're selling complete systems.

Okay, glad to hear your problem is solved.

Is this your first computer? I'd had several over the years and have
accumulated a 1/2 dozen or so over the years. For stuff like a power
cord, video cable, HDD screws, etc., I have a supply of it on hand. The
trick is organizing and labeling the stuff (so you know what you have 6
mos or a year from now), plus storing *everything* in a box and knowing
where the damned box is. :)

Good advice. Why didn't you tell me this about 5 to 10 years
ago <grin> ? I've accumulated some stuff over those years and now
don't know exactly what it is so I consider it as junk.

ps- Ron, I may have been a little harsh on you but I am glad you
found a sympathetic Dell employee to help you. Just be sure to read
more carefully what you are buying or maybe I should say "not" buying.

Laptop power cords change.. Vostro 1500 is 2-wire, Vostro 1520
is 3-wire, for example.
