The best way to deal with these updates is to go direct
to the KB and download the distribution copy of the
update. I was having problems getting the KB979909
update to install, so I downloaded the distribution copy
and it installed with no problem. It turned out it was the
..Net Framework 2.0 part of the file that was giving the
problem.
