Assuming for the moment that they both have identical tarrifs (they
don't, but pretend they do), and that you are particularly interested
in 3G data, as well as other ancillaries such as good customer
service, coverage, etc.

Would you pick Three, or Orange?

Three I think have the edge on coverage... everyone's experience is
different, but I don't seem to find many places where I get 2G fallback to
Orange these days (even had good 3G at an isolated location in hilly rural
Wales).

For CS I have little experience of either (haven't needed any, really). I
think Three have the edge on tariffs too, though I haven't studied Orange's
in too much detail.

Given that Three are using the same 3G network as T-Mobile, and Orange
customers will be able to roam onto T-Mobile's network and vice versa
later this year* (anyone know when?) as part of their UK merger, will
Orange then have better coverage than Three or will Three customers also
roam onto Orange 3G?

Bear in mind that very soon the Orange and T-Mobile networks are going
to combine to form easliy the biggest network in the UK...

Three, No question, they have the type of additional services that
FT Orange abandoned. I have a couple of free 0161 and 0208
landline diverts using ring2skype using Three's free Skype which
i keep on. Replacing the Line 2 i used to have with Orange.

Free Skype, MSN, Facebook, etc.
