Same exact problem! It was working but won't work now! A real pain. It is NOT any of the more obvious such as "kiosk mode" or "all slides set to advance on mouse click" or anything similar in the custom animations. Any help would be so valued.

In Slideshow mode, the mouse won't click it forward, or backward on
right-click, and neither will the PgUp/PgDn, or up/down arrows. The shadowed
buttons on the left bottom area of each slide will not advance/backspace it,
either. I can advance only by hitting the Enter button and cannot go
backward. I am using Microsoft Office 2007 (w/PowerPoint) and have a lenovo
T61. When I'm in Normal view, all of the PgUp/PgDn and arrow buttons work
just fine.

have you checked if the presentation is in kiosk mode? Have a look at Slide
Show/Set Up Slide Show.

This problem is in every slideshow, whether a new one saved to PP 2007 or an
old one that I checked in a former version (saved in Compatibility mode).
This only happens in PP; the PgUp and PgDn buttons work fine in other
applications, such as Adobe Acrobat.

I wonder if there are some settings for the graphic that are disturbing your
presentation. I'm not familiar with the graphic card that is inserted in
your laptop, but it should be the nVidia Quadro NVS 140M. Are there settings
in the Windows Control Pane for second monitors or presentation views or
anything in this direction? I'm thinking of a setting that tries to show the
presentation on another monitor which isn't there and therefore blocks part
of the keyboard and/or mouse. It's just a guess.
