For future reference, here are the steps for reinstalling companyweb in SBS
2008.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd560621(WS.10).aspx

Also, here's how to deal with 983444, if it does not complete successfully.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/sbs/archive/2010/06/18/companyweb-and-sharepoint-central-admin-not-accessible-after-installing-kb983444.aspx

What application pool is your companyweb site using post-reinstall? The SBS
Console is expecting it to be using one named "SBS Sharepoint AppPool"
(without quotes) and will report status based on that.

If you have not installed SBS 2008 Update Rollup 4, you should do that next
and then re-run the Internet Address Management Wizard to reconfigure the
alternate access mappings in Sharepoint to allow access to it from the
internet.

From: Chris Puckett [MSFT] on
At this point, you have a lot of different symptoms and it is not clear to
me what is working and what is not so I am going to try to separate these
things out.

1. Can you open IE on SBS and browse http://companyweb? If not, what is the
error you get?

2. Can you open IE on a client computer on the LAN and browse
http://companyweb? If not, what is the error you get?

3. For this symptom: SBS console now shows site as online, but when trying
to see the
properties SBS says "An error occurred when accessing the property page
for this web site. Check the server logs for more information..."

The fact that it now shows online and you have the option to view the site
properties indicates the app pool name is correct.
You need to find the corresponding error in the C:\Program Files\Windows
Small Business Server\Logs\console.log file.

4. For the Internet Address Management Wizard error, what is the
corresponding error in the C:\Program Files\Windows Small Business
Server\Logs\dpcw.log file?
