Hi NG,

I am trying to install the Beta 2 of SPS 07 (single server) but I am always
getting an error while the setup tries to create the sample data (Step 8).
Maybe anyone got an idea how to solve this problem. If so, then let me say
thanks :)

Ok,

after the basic installation didn´t work I tried the Advanced installation
with an local SQL2005 Server (Dev-Edition). Anything worked well, until the
config-wizard tried to create the configuration database, which crashed
several times. Anyone got an idea?

I got a Windows Server 2003 with any update availible as domain controler.
The sharepoint server also is a win 2003 with any patches installed. I
created an user in ads which is in the admin group and also is security
admin, sysadmin and db creator at sql 2005 dev server ....

I am going crazy, tried around 14 times to install, each installation I
tried new things (you won´t believe it, but I am really experienced with SPS
2003) and anything threw a new error. The logfile is useless at all ....

Maybe anyone has an idea ...

Thanks

I am receiving what are probably the exact same errors. I have had problems
from "Could not get the Indexer property in the MSSConfiguration table." to
"A Database Error Occurred.... Description: Login failed for user 'NT
AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS". I'm in a dual-server situation trying to upgrade my
SPS 2003 server which has all of the SPs on it as well.

I too have tried at least a dozen times with different errors and have been
looking all over the web for good newsgroups or blogs on upgrading SharePoint
from 2003 to 2007 beta2 without much luck. If anyone knows of a NG or Blog
that has good SharePoint 2007 Beta 2 installation information, I'd appreciate
it!

* Apply SP1
* Install dot net framework 2.0
* Install WinFX Runtime components 3.0 beta ----> I am confused wether to
