I just installed the B2TR using the slipstream method on a Windows 2003 box.
It installed successfully and the configuration wizard went off without a
hitch. When I logged into the Central admin, I started to complete the tasks
listed in the configuration steps. When I got to setting up the 'Services on
the Server', I was able to start all of them except Office Sharepoint Server
Search. After I configure it and hit 'Start', I receive the following error:

An unhandled exception occurred in the user interface.Exception Information:
Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: path

Everything else seems to have started fine, except this. Any ideas on what
I can do to fix or get around this. We cannot begin to use 2007 until I get
this figured out.

Tx,
Virgil

Did you stop the Search Service as part of your B2TR installation (which I
presume as you posted here was MOSS 2007?) and did you do this as described
?

Did you remove the registry key if creating on a DC ?

I am having the exact same issue. I am not installed on a DC and there is no
Officer Search Service to shutdown.

Yes, apologies. Turning the Search Service off is for non-slipstream
installs from Beta2 to Beta2TR. I wrote my reply rather too automatically.

On slipstream installs I usually ask if the Steve Smith install
documentation was followed (assuming MOSS 2007 - Joris Poelmans'
documentation for WSSv3) or the Microsoft documentation.

The MS documentation has errors - whether they cause this particular problem
is unknown to me though.
