I have skype running well on my home iMac and and iPod Touch.

I would like to set up my home iMac so that when I want to connect to my
wife's skype account, it automatically activates skype.

Unless I have missed something obvious, I can't see an easy way of doing
this within skype. That is, to set up some sort of "listening" mode,
running in the background ....

I guess I could get skype to auto start when the iMac is turned on but
it would need to be left with my wife's account active.

This seems a fairly obvious requirement, so I guess it is available
somewhere. Any suggestions?

(The reason for all this is that my wife is as computer literate as a
gerbil ....)

Thanks,

Larry

I have Skype on both Windows and OSX and I dont think there is a way to
do what you want. The Skype service has to be running to accept the
calls, and this means having the program running.

I guess all you can do is get it to start at logon in a minimised state?

That's your only mechanism for the desktop skype.

You could get her a phone which talks Skype and runs it in the
background. Not just iPhones etc, you can get IP-based desk phones
that work on Skype directly, though I've never used any.
