iCal keyboard operation Editing an event - Cmd-I or Cmd-E to edit. Cmd-E is better, Cmd-I gives you an Edit or Done button, neither of which respond to Enter or Return, so you either have to tab until you reach them and hit space-bar, click on them, or do something else that I haven't discovered. And what's "Done" - does that mean that... 7 May 2008 14:53
OT: Sat Nav Do any of you good people have experience with Sat Nav systems and their compatibility with Macs? I've got a road trip to the west coast of Ireland later this month and was toying with the idea of buying a Sat Nav system. I've given up on google because most of the review sites seem to be populated by people ... 7 May 2008 14:53
CF Card Reader question Dear All, Earlier to today I got a no brand ExpressCard 34 CF card reader for my MBP. When I first fitted it and plugged in a CF card, it immediately popped up on the desktop with no problem. However - it didn't launch Nikon Transfer (as my other USB Cf reader, or plugging my camera in directly does). So... 7 May 2008 13:16

Interesting iPhone upgrade info from O2 This isn't at all new, but I've never really browsed around the O2 website before, so I've only just found it. I was trying to figure out whether when the 3G iPhone comes out in June (at least, June in the USA) whether you'll be able to upgrade without renewing your O2 contract. It *appears* that the answer is... 7 May 2008 12:26
Well this time it was my turn to do it... MacBook and coffee.. So it seems. I've tripped up and spilled coffee on the MacBook keyboard. At first the arrow keys got stuck or didn't respond. After a long shutdown and restart, the keyboard doesn't function at all. No light on the caps lock key (I know many of you hate it, but that's a bit beyond) or the numlock, no response from ... 7 May 2008 11:37
Jet-engine noise on sleep? Last 4 or 5 sleeps on my iG5/1.6 have resulted in it powering up the fans like a bloody jet engine before it finally sleeps. Last time this happened (2 years ago) it was the dreaded exploding capacitors (got the midplane/motherboard replaced). Before I power this down for a look-see, is there anything else that... 7 May 2008 10:48
The iPhone is dead, long live the iPhone Sort of. According to The Register both O2 and Carphone Warehouse have sold out of 8Gb iPhones and that CW has also sold out of 16Gb iPhones. It looks as if Apple is clearing/has cleared stock in anticipation of sames of the 3G iPhone. The Register naughtiliy suggests that Apple are deliberately causing shorta... 7 May 2008 09:59

how to test a SD or USB flash card? I've just bought some (Sandisk UltraII+) SD cards for use with my SLR. In the past I lost photos due to a faulty card so I'd like to test them. Is there a better method than simply filling them up with a CRC'd file, such as a .zip, and then verifying that the .zip will extract ok? Arthur ... 7 May 2008 08:21

where are Services? James Dore wrote I use SoHo Notes, which suits me pretty well, but it adds three irritating extra items to *all* contextual menus, and I'd love to get rid of them. How to 'force-format' an SD card? I have an SD card that I use to transfer files between my EeePC and my iMac (via a USB SD card reader). I have also used it recently in my Nikon digital camera (after formating it in said camera first with whatever it formats it as). Now, after using it in the camera, I decided to re-format the SD card via the... 7 May 2008 05:41 |
