Update: Plusnet - problems *sending* mail...
<snip> Well, we're almost there... The archive and re-install seems to have done the trick: the settings for outgoing mail which didn't work before now work fine. (Yup - copied *exactly* from printouts.) There's one issue raising its head (Mail not saving the password), but that's going on the back burner -... 8 Aug 2010 13:25
Inkjet printers - what's good nowadays?
My Canon iP5200 Wireless today told me that *all* of its ink needed changing. Statistically it was bound to happen sooner or later. So I toddle over to my local Comet (yes, I know, I know) and found that replacing all of the ink would cost north of 100. A new printer would cost less and come with ink. So. I... 10 Aug 2010 03:41

eBook readers on the Mac
Opinions as to the best one? Stanza is kinda-sorta ok, but I feel like I'm always fighting it somewhat. I can never _quite_ get it the way I want it to look. What's the nearest thing to iBooks on the Mac itself? Must be able to read ePubs, which rules out the Kindle app. I think. Jim -- "Microsoft admitte... 8 Aug 2010 02:39

Macbook Pro: no Firewire ports
Hi, I am thinking of getting a secondhand Macbook Pro (secondhand for financial reasons) and the one I have my eye on doesn't have Firewire. In fact, I think Firewire was dropped from other laptops. I do a lot video editing, so is there a way around this so that I can still use my iLink Sony camcorder? ... 10 Aug 2010 10:14
