It's a nice app IMO. If you're 'old skool' and hardware consoles,
outboard gear routing etc. make sense to you, then Reaper will too once
you forget how other programs work. At least, it made good sense for me
from that perspective. It feels like an actual hardware flow to me but
with none of the limitations of actual hardware -- full sends out and
back, blended sends ('one click out insert'), pre and post everything,
as many as your PC can handle. And midi follows almost the same routing
that audio does.

Thank you Sue.
I have a little experience with hardware and so should feel right at home.
Indeed, my daughter keeps trying to proselytize me into converting to Native
Instruments.
My old skool stuff includes a Kurzweil K2500RS, Korg 05 r/w, Yamaha Vl-70m,
and a Roland Super JV 1080.
I love those synths!
