Thanks - Having read all I could and being nervous of tinkering with the
system32 file I started with the simplest things first - 'Repair' didn't work
and I was about to re-install Outlook but before doing so decided to delete
an old e-mail account which had not been recieving properly for several weeks
- hey presto! Everything normal though why Outlook only started playing up
today who knows?!

Phew! - Feeling lucky - Hope this of some help to others
