Our company has an old windows 2003 terminal server (TS) and the license
server is located in a Windows 2003 DC. The TS is slow and we need to expand
it - We are purchasing a new Windows 2008 server to replace the old 2003 TS
server.

We would like to retire the old Windows 2003 server and replace it with the
new Windows remote desktop 2008. I would like to keep the same name and IP
in the new server.

What is the best way to accomplished this?
Can we install the license server in the same box as the Windows remote
desktop 2008?
Do the old TS licenses from the Windows TS 2003 should work with the new
2008 server?
Our company uses thin clients (WT1125SE, V10L, V0, etc) are we ok connecting
these units to the new Windows TS 2008 server? Any issues?

Any assistance with this problem will be much appreciated and thank you very
much in advance for your great assistance.

There's a blog post on the licensing requirements here:

http://blogs.msdn.com/rds/archive/2009/03/06/migrating-a-windows-server-2003-license-server.aspx

You'll need to get Win2008 TS CALs to be able to connect to the Win2008 TS.

The thin clients should be fine. You may want to contact the manufacturers
to see if the RDP client can be updated on them, if you want to get the
latest RDP features.
