cannot open mmc

From: candulj on 16 Sep 2009 11:56 Hello, I have XP pro SP3. when I select the disk defragmentation utility an empty window appears without any error message. I first ran the sfc /scannow utility successfully completing it without any messages. I then researched the XP support forum and tried to open the services.msc snap-in with the following error message. "MMC could not create the snap-in. The snap-in might not have been installed correctly. Name: Services CLSID: {58221C66-EA27-11CF-ADCF-00AA00A80033} Please advise how to correct this. Thank you in advance. Joe -- candulj
