Has anyone downloaded books for the iPhone from the iTunes store? I've
installed the iBooks app on Vt's iPhone (3GS, iOS 4) but all attempts to
download anything to read fail hopelessly.

By which I mean that the downloads appear to work, but the book isn't
readable using the app, and doesn't appear on iBooks' library shelves.

Working fine on my 3GS. I've only downloaded some free Twain to see
how it copes so far.

Not as good as Stanza, imo.

So far I've gone the free Pooh, and a couple of samples. All have
downloaded fine.

iBooks seems quite slow opening a book up, but is OK once it is going.
I'll probably get rid of Stanza and just read everything in iBooks, as
all the epubs I've bought so far will work in both.

Did the free Pooh just appear? Did you have to download it? I wonder what I'm
doing wrong.

You have to go and find it, then "buy it". Then the book cover appears
in the other iBooks screen and I think you get the "downloading"
progress bar superimposed on it.
